There is suddenly a lot of time to relax, to garden, to travel, to do the same things or to do something completely different: Retirement marks the beginning of a new phase in life that also has an impact on your personality. Krone+ has looked at what exactly is happening inside us – and why optimism can even surpass gloomy retirement expectations.
Not only they, but especially the young people under thirty are looking at their distant retirement with deep concerns. According to this year’s unique survey by the “Initiative 2050”, 75 percent are worried about the level and security of their future pension. Scepticism also reigns in other ways. Six out of ten Austrians fear for their standard of living and believe that the state pension alone will not be sufficient to maintain it. The same number say that supplementary private pension provisions are not affordable.
