Now it’s official: the state holding company ÖBAG gets a new chairman of the board, Günther Ofner. He is the successor of Helmut Kern.
With the 65-year doctorate in law, the chairman of the aviation profession in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) joins the ÖBAG as chairman of the supervisory board. He is considered a close supporter of the ÖVP and was once the deputy head of the party’s political academy.
Finance Minister Magnus Brunner (ÖVP): “Ofner has been doing an excellent job as CEO of Flughafen Wien AG for many years and is more than recognised. With his experience from numerous supervisory directorships, he will also lead ÖBAG together with CEO Edith Hlawati towards a strong future. ” The aim is to further secure and strengthen Austria as a business location.
The general meeting of the state holding company on Wednesday also determined the dividend, which flows to the state from ÖBAG affiliated companies such as OMV, Telekom and Post as well as the association. There is 766 million euros for the previous year. For 2020, the state holding company had paid 653 million in dividends. So there is an increase of almost a fifth (17 percent).
