She is the first woman at the head of Greiner AG and has been the boss of more than 10,000 employees for more than a year: Saori Dubourg. How does she think about ladies quota? How is it possible to stay competitive despite the increased costs at the Austria location? This was what we asked the CEO of the plastic processor and foam manufacturer of Kremsmünster (Upper Austria).
Specialist for plastic and foam, 107 locations in 31 countries, just over 10,000 employees worldwide, the head office in Kremsmünster in the upper Austrian- This is all on the calling card of Greiner AG, which is just as much demand for packaging for food for food or as a supplier of the car and evenings industry.
The threads of the family business in Saori Dubourg have been coming together since March 2024. You think far ahead. “A good strategy does not ask what is changing today, but asks: what will remain relevant in ten or 20 years?” Dubourg says.

- Dealing with the increased costs:
“Inflation also has an impact on personnel costs, which is completely clear. It means that we have to win so much productivity if we have extra extra costs. That is why we have already worked intensively on the various efficiency topics last year. This is certainly a continuous task. Productivity will be very decisive in a world that is cloudy.”
- Crisis -fee and Greiners Trumpasse:
“In times when it is turbulent, it is important to have a clear compass. GREINER stands for reliability, openness, also openness for the world. I think a big challenge at the moment is certainly the question: how stable do the markets remain? Are you further open and accessible? And how do we deal with it?
- The ensuring that sustainability could lose interest due to cost pressure:
“We are already noticing that inflation has an impact on the willingness to pay the ultimate consumers. And we notice that of our customers too. Although there are major regional differences here. In different countries, such as in Scandinavia or Switzerland, we also see a high obligation for sustainable packaging. It is important to think about the future: after that it is like that is the case that is how it is.”
- The focus on new materials:
“Together with partners we have developed home -compostable coffee capsules that are fully composed of biodegradable materials. In my opinion, in my opinion we want to contribute. I think that we as Europe have a huge opportunity to create new and future markets for sustainable materials, but also new material functions. It is not only about sustainability, but also for high technology.”
- The need for quotas of women:
“You have to see women and men as much as a talent pool of the future. We try to promote the best from each of the Polish, completely independent of whether it is a man or a woman. At the same time we have put ourselves in Greiner that we want to reach some of women in leadership positions of 40 % of 2030. If our daughters can develop their full potential.
