Burned as a result of the attack on the Belfast Multicultural Association

The Burned Multicultural Center’s online fundraising drive has raised nearly 3,000,000 daily.

Amnesty International’s Northern Ireland Program Director Patrick Corrigan launched a crowdfunding page on Saturday, which aims to raise 5,000,000.

The money will be spent to help the Belfast Multicultural Association on Donegal Pass in south Belfast after it was attacked in a suspected racially motivated fire last week. The attack was the second fire in the center and occurred just days after the group completed repairs to the roof caused by the first attack.

“Fifteen months after the devastating fire in their building, they were attacked again,” Mr. Corrigan says on his crowdfunding site. “Another fire a few days after the attack after completing roof repair work. Once again, police say they suspect a crime.” Racial hatred.

“The Belfast Multicultural Association needs our support to rebuild the centre, which was the basis of their work, and to help people of all backgrounds in Belfast with a food bank, clothes counter and other ancillary services.

“By making a donation, you can show your solidarity with the Belfast Multicultural Association and take a stand against the hate of racism.”

Detectives investigating fires are turning to more information.

“Police were notified of the fire on Friday, April 8 at 1:20 am,” Detective Inspector Michael McDonnell said.

“Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Officers were present with the officers who put out the fire. The building was badly damaged.

“Following our investigation, we now consider the fire to be fire and also a hate crime. I am therefore directly appealing to the public to assist with this investigation and the ongoing investigation.

If you’re near Donegal Pass on Friday, April 8 from 12 p.m. to 1.15 p.m. and notice something suspicious, call the police at 101.

“I would also like to have any camera footage that may have been taken from the Donegal Road/Lower Hole area during this time.

“Anyone with information is requested to contact investigators at Musgrave 101, citing reference number 70 04/08/22.”
