A new assassination attempt could have changed American history. In this case, accelerated: Joe Biden de facto has no chance. Even another Democratic candidate hardly does.
Donald Trump has once again proven what he’s made of. After the Republican presidential candidate was forced to fall to the ground after being shot and his Secret Service agents, some of whom jumped up too late, helped him back up and immediately tried to run him away as per security protocol, he ordered them to stop with clear “hold” orders.
This gave the presidential candidate, who had been shot in the ear and was bleeding, the opportunity to experience the iconic moment of this election campaign, despite the fact that his life may still have been in grave danger.
With a grim look he raised his fist in the air, blood on his head and neck, his shirt open: this is what an unstoppable fighter looks like. Then he shouted, ‘Fight! Fight!’
No one can campaign like him
As dangerous as he can be as president, as radical as he is, as crazy as some of his statements are, no one can campaign like him. It goes without saying that the Republican National Convention will be the greatest triumph since Aida.
With July 14, 2024, and the assassination attempt before the cameras, Donald Trump is finally the clear favorite to be elected as president of the United States; the confused-looking, age-old Joe Biden de facto has no chance anymore. His performances and the discussion about his state of mind in contrast to Trump’s primal strength in the literal sense? No longer winning.
Two things will now happen in the US:
- First, there will be a very heated debate about possible shortcomings of the Secret Service and the police. A shooter on a roof with a clear line of sight and a clear path to the lectern at a campaign appearance of the ex-president? Sounds like something out of a bad Hollywood movie. The criticism has already begun en masse.
- Second, the internal party debate about Joe Biden, which was briefly suppressed by the assassination attempt, will quickly flare up again. Perhaps the national shock moment will even provide an opportunity for unnoticed conversations in Biden’s inner circle about his withdrawal.
Why Actors and Advertising Stars Are Needed for Printing
What is happening shows the difference between our party system and the American one: there are no large party structures with presidencies and boards that can be convened to at least formally and officially exert pressure on a top candidate. Strictly speaking, it does not exist in the US in our usual form.
That is why actors and coffee machine commercial stars like George Clooney or the million-dollar guest speaker Barack Obama are suddenly so important in ousting Biden. Incidentally, he, his family and his team are exhibiting the behavior that can often be observed at the end of a political career, shortly before the definitive end: the Wagenburg phenomenon in a real parallel universe.
The land of presidential assassinations
Once again, a political assassin has written history, in this case probably subjectively wrong history. After the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers, the assassination of Ronald Reagan and the thwarted attacks on Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford in the 1970s: the US has been the land of presidential assassinations since the shooting of Abraham Lincoln. A bit like ancient Rome.
