He has urged, among others, the President of the Spanish government, Pedro Sánchez, to honor the commitments promised so far, in the hope that “this new call will not fall on deaf ears”.
They were also present at the event Joseph Egibarchairman of Gipuzko Buru Batzar; Jokin LandaChairman of the Municipality of Zarautz; Bakartxo Tejeria, President of the Basque Parliament; the mayors of Zarautz and Donostia, Xavier Txurruka Y Eneko Goia respectively, as well as the spokesman for the Basque government, Bingen Zupiria.
After claiming that the scarcity and price of energy “will bring hard times,” Ortuzar stated that: “It’s time to make agreements” between governments and parties“to adapt to this complex reality and, above all, to provide the right answers to citizens”.
He also took the opportunity to reiterate to the President of the Spanish government that relations with the Jeltzale formation must be taken “seriously”: “we will honor all the commitments we made at the inauguration of Sánchez. It is up to Sánchez and his government to fulfill theirs“.
Similarly, Ortuzar has described the pace of compliance with the investment agreements he and Sánchez signed in December 2019 as “very poor” and unacceptable,” he lamented.
Looking home, he warned that the opposition will try to “cloud the playing field” in this new political course, and that it will have its “high point” in municipal and provincial elections.
