Boss “Lower Austrian Crown”: – “Only after the elections will it be peaceful”

Date:

Nobody wanted a dirty election campaign, but it happened anyway: anonymous reporting and blackmail. The political mood is not good, Lukas Lusetzky, editor-in-chief of Lower Austria’s “Krone”, explains in krone.tv’s talk. Only after the elections can things become peaceful. “It will be over on January 30, maybe then we can work together more constructively. What I do not assume is that everyone will remain in office.” Johanna Mikl-Leitner (ÖVP), Franz Schnabl (SPÖ) and Udo Landbauer (FPÖ) – that will not happen on January 30 either.

According to Lusetzky, the ÖVP would really shake a result with a three in front. “At 39, 38 or 37 percent, I’m sure the governor’s chair would wobble.” The oft-cited 40 percent is the pain threshold, anything above that could give the ÖVP a tailwind after the election. The FPÖ, on the other hand, will almost certainly be able to achieve its best result in history. Events at the federal level would also have an impact here.

According to Lusetzky, the other parties saw the fairness agreement pre-announced by the ÖVP, which was ultimately not signed by either side. The line between criticism and political error is very difficult to draw here. After all, there are a number of issues preoccupying Lower Austria before the election campaign, be it the advertising affair or the cause related to the audit of the Court of Auditors.

According to Lusetzky, there are many topics in the air. Neither the allegations against the regional director of the ORF Lower Austria, Robert Ziegler, nor the state audit investigation (keyword ÖVP advertising scandal) could not hope for tangible results before the elections. “There will be no specific information before the election, but we assume that one or the other will come to light before the election,” such as the energy price problem,” says Lusetzky.
