After the municipal and regional elections on 28 May, the representation of political parties in Eudel (Association of Basque Municipalities) has been the subject of discussion in recent hours.
The chairman of the Bizkai Buru Batzar of the PNV, Itxaso Atutxa, replied to EH Bildu that representation in Eudel is characterized by the statutes of this body, not by the PNV or by an agreement between the parties. In an interview granted in Euskadi Irratia, Atutxa EH has accused Bildu of lack of coherenceand has emphasized that Eudel’s Statutes were endorsed by the Sovereignist Coalition.
Likewise, Atutxa EH Bildu has asked for again, as in 2019, the formation of a unitary list between political parties. “We haven’t changed what’s ours, I don’t know why EH Bildu is now in that work of a trilero,” he added.
Yesterday, EH Bildu spokesman Unai Urruzuno said that “if EH Bildu ruled in Gasteiz and Durango – they are finally in the hands of the socialists and jeltzales – EH Bildu would have the majority in Eudel.”
Overlooking the general elections of July 23, Atutxa has warned of the risk of going back on social measures in case PP or the PP and Vox reach the Spanish government. In that case, it predicts that the next four years will be tough. With a view to the inauguration, the PNV, whoever the candidate is, will put the Basque agenda on the table, according to Atutxa.
