The plenary session of the Parliament of Vitoria has debated about the rules of the nursing homes on the instructions of Elkarrekin Podemos-Izquierda Unida and EH Bildu And rejected the proposal who have presented these two formations.
Elkarrekin Podemos-IU and EH Bildu had agreed on an amendment that they claimed an amendment to the 2019 Decree laying down the material, functional and personal conditions of residential centers for the elderly.
According to the amendment, the amendments to be adopted in the Decree include, among other things, guaranteeing ratios of minimum daily direct attention of 120 minutes for each residentan attention from 24 hour nursing and the establishment of a fund for the implementation of the amendments included in the decision. Similarly, they proposed to evaluate, through quality criteria, the structure, process and outcome of residential care, “with the objective of achieving the optimal level of physical, psychological and social health of residents and satisfaction of both the elderly and their families, as professionals who care for them”.
The proposal of the two progressive forces was rejected by 39 votes against (PNV, PSE and Mixed Group), 22 votes in favor (those of the proposing groups) and the 6 abstentions of the representatives of PP+Cs.
instead of this proposal an amendment to the entire PNV and the PSE-EE has been approvedin the That HE insists the Basque government that in the next decree on residential centers “the necessary proportions are guaranteed for sufficient attention to users, both during the day and at night”.
