Nadia Nemeh Shomaly is appointed as the new mayor of Bermeo

Nemeh Shomaly, from EH Bildu, has been elected mayor thanks to the votes of the Guzan platform. After taking over the baton, his first words were for Asier Larrauri. “We are daughters and sons of Asier’s work.”

Bermeo’s plenary today named its new mayor, Nadia Neme Shomalyby EH Bildu, after the previous mayor, Asier Larrauriresigned a day after taking office after being in a traffic accident and taking a positive breathalyzer test.

Nemeh Shomaly, number 2 in EH Bildu’s candidacy in Bermeo, will become the mayor of this Biscay city after ratifying the agreement between the sovereignist coalition and the independent group Guzan.

In today’s extraordinary session, Hemen Shomaly’s candidacy received 9 votes (5 from EH Bildu and 4 from the Guzán group), while the PNV candidate, Aritz Abaroa, received 8.
