Euskaraz irakurri: Juan Carlos Ia arratsaldean iritsiko da Vigoko airport
Juan Carlos de Borbón will return to Spain this Thursday, where he will remain until Monday. This is his first trip since he fled to the United Arab Emirates in August 2020 after it was revealed that he was being investigated for corruption.
The emeritus king of Spain will land at Vigo airport in the afternoon, as confirmed by his friend and president of the Sanxenxo Yacht Club, Pedro Campos. Exactly, he stays all weekend in a house he has in Sanxenxo.
On Friday at noon, he will attend an event at the Club Náutico de Sanxenxo to mark the start of the Spanish 6 Meter Sailing Cup.
The monarch of Spain for nearly four decades will be staying in Sanxenxo between Thursday and Sunday or even Monday morning, the same day he plans to move to Madrid to meet his son Felipe VI. It will be the first meeting between the two since the former monarch left for the Gulf.
His return comes after the telephone conversation held with Felipe VI on May 15 on the occasion of the monarch’s trip to Abu Dhabi to express his condolences on the passing of the President of the United Arab Emirates.
He will return to Abu Dhabi on Monday, “where he has established his permanent and stable residence.”
