The Lehendakari advocates a new qualitative leap in the internationalization of Euskadi

He Lehendakari Imanol Pradales has presented Global Euskadi Strategy during an event in Albaola de Pasaia. Pradales has emphasized the need to make a new qualitative leap in the internationalization of Euskadi in view of the great challenges of the future. He indicated that Euskadi must change from “a country that goes into the world to a country that plays the game in the world”

In his speech, Pradales referred to the men and women of the 16th century and advocated following their example. He remembered the “international vocation that Euskadi has had throughout history“, and he defended “taking advantage of the opportunities in front of us.” “We need to get back on track,” he said.

He has pointed out that Euskadi, faced with “the birth of a new era, much more uncertain and complex”, must “find its place in the context presented”, with Europe as its “base camp”. The new strategy aims to “Preparing Euskadi for future international challenges“.

The lines of action of Euskadi Globala include weaving new networks and strategic alliances, having our own voice at the table where decisions are made in Europe, fostering the business ecosystem to attract investments and talent to our country, and activating new initiatives together with the Basque diaspora. This strategy also includes Euskadi’s relationship with the European Union.

A broad representation of the Basque institutional, associative and economic fabric took part in the presentation.
