Dispute over operation dates – priority for Viennese: Burgenland rages over hackers

Viennese should receive a surgical appointment in ‘their’ city more quickly than guest patients from the federal states. Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) raised eyebrows in the “Krone” with the idea of ​​separate waiting lists.

This makes Burgenland’s politicians angry. State boss Hans Peter Doskozil – like Hacker from the SPÖ – rages angrily: “I assume that laws and contracts are respected in Austria. If this is not the case, we will use all legal options to defend ourselves. This is no way to deal with people who have been paying into the system for years.”

Burgenland’s Oberblauer Norbert Hofer does not want to accept this either: “It is a mess. This is an insult to all commuters who work in Vienna and helped build the city.” And he literally advises hackers not to appear in Burgenland. The reception would sometimes be unfriendly.

Background to the dispute: Lower Austria and Burgenland are dependent on the Vienna clinics because they can only partly care for their population themselves. The capital receives money for this. The question is: enough money?

Vienna FPÖ health spokesman Wolfgang Seidl believes that conditions in the capital are self-made: “Hackers are trying to pass the buck for poor planning and mismanagement.”

Interestingly, no responses were heard from Lower Austria on Sunday. Presumably because the Lower Austrian politicians were busy with the mayoral elections.
