According to the current data from Transparency International, Hungary is the most corrupt country in the EU – for the third time in a row.
All promised reforms and legislative initiatives for better combating corruption in recent years have not really been reflected in concrete improvements. Hungary even slid a point further in the ranking compared to the previous year. The country has reached 41 out of 100 points.
Reasons for the bad result
In 2007, Hungary was able to achieve his best result with tenth place, after which the continuous descent took place, the news portal “HVG” explained Tuesday. According to transparency, the negative assessment of Hungary is systematic violations of the rule of law and therefore prefer corruption. The organization also criticized a lack of corruption control. The portal remains to remind you of deepening EU money as part of friendship.
Austria with the worst result since the start of the ranking
The top of the EU form Denmark with 90 points and Finland with 88. Austria also received a bad testimony. With 67 out of 100 points, the Alpine Republic in the Corruption Perception Index, Corruption (Perception) Index, in short: CPI) only ends in 25th place.
