UDG Tenerife announced this Thursday the continuation of one of the promises of Tenerife football, defender Andrea Marrero, who will continue with the club until 2025.
The player indicated in the statements distributed by the club that “he did not expect the call from the president” and when it happened “he did not think about it”, because he considers Granadilla his home.
“We have a significant base of players from the islands and it is a source of pride that we bet on the locals. When you come here you know the door to the first team is open”, he pointed out.
The president of the entity, Sergio Batista, pointed out that this is “a benchmark player and a mirror in which the soccer players of the subsidiaries and the Canary Islands look at themselves”.
After a period of absence due to a serious knee injury, Marrero finished a great season at Reto Iberdrola last year with 26 games played and five goals scored.
In the current course, the footballer has grown to find a place in the first team, having played all the minutes in the first seven days of Finetwork Liga F. EFE
