Kranevitter returned to River Plate, his first reinforcement


Central midfielder Matías Kranevitter has returned to River Plate, the club where he began his professional career, after a stint with Mexican Rayados de Monterrey, the Argentine club announced on Monday.

Kranevitter, 29, made his professional debut with River Plate in 2012 after playing in the lower ranks in his youth. That year he won the Copa Libertadores under 20.

With Gallardo as coach, he won the Copa Sudamericana in 2014 and was part of the team that won the Recopa Sudamericana and the Libertadores in 2015, the year in which he was signed by Atlético de Madrid.

He then moved to Sevilla FC and finally to Zenit Saint Petersburg before returning to the American continent.
