UD Granadilla Tenerife qualified for the quarterfinals of the Copa de la Reina football after defeating Fundación Canaria CD Tenerife (0-4), in a match played on Wednesday night at field number 2 of Ciudad Deportiva from Tenerife Javier Perez.
The team from the top women’s division imposed its status as a favorite against a rival that plays two categories below -Second Federation- and sentenced the tie to a single match with three of their four goals scored in first half, which they lead from start to finish, on natural grass and under constant rain.
Pisco opened the scoring in the 5th minute, with a penalty, for the demolition of the American Nasello by María Lanza, who deceived Sara Niz with her shot.
The goalkeeper from Lanzarote for the local team had a good performance in the first half hour, although he could not prevent the second goal, from the veteran María José Pérez, with a good right from outside the area in the 33rd minute; or the third, from Nigerian Monday, to an empty door, after six.
Just before the break, Granadilla even missed the second penalty in his favor with a high shot from Paola.
In the second half, the visiting team played with numerical superiority from minute 52 after Marta Gasienica was sent off with a straight red card for a hard tackle.
A new penalty, the third of the night, for knocking down Nasello was converted by the American player himself in the 73rd minute to close the result in a historic derby, unprecedented between two Tenerife clubs.
