Serbia qualified for the Davis Cup finals after defeating Norway


Despite the absence of the world number one team, Novak Djokovic, Serbian qualified for final stage of Davis Cup 2023 by overtaking 3-0 to Norway in Oslo, an advantage without looking back in the two remaining games in the tie.

It was the second team to secure a place in the finals, after the United States, which beat Uzbekistan 4-0 also at home.

Through Serbianthe last point was achieved by the doubles pair Nikola Cacic-Filip Krajinovicwho defeated the Norwegians Viktor Duracic and Herman Hoeyeraal through 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3.

On Friday Miomir Kecmanovic prevailed andreja petrovic through 6-1 and 6-3 and Laslo Djere in Viktor Durasovic by 6-3, 4-6 and 7-6 (8).

This weekend, twelve previous World Group qualifiers will be played. The winners advance to the final group stage, where reigning champion Canada, runner-up Australia, and guests Spain and Italy await them. The groups will be played in September in different places and the subsequent final of eight, in November in Malaga.
