Roma announced this Wednesday the transfer of its midfielder so far Nicolo Zaniolo for Galatasaray. The ‘azzurro’ international signs until 2027, with a release clause of 35 million euros. This is the most expensive signing in the history of Turkish football.

Zaniolo flew to Istanbul on Tuesday who signed for Galatasaray after passing medical tests. There was an agreement between Roma, the Turkish club and the media. Galatasaray pays 20 million euros and bonus to Roma. They are 16.5 million fixed, but have a minimum income of 20 including bonuses. The player will earn 3.5 million euros salary per year.
Zaniolo, as brilliant as he was controversial, was forced to leave Rome, whose ultras have even directed death threats at him. The medium refused to go to Bournemouth and was close to Milan.
Until a certain moment, José Mourinho, coach of the romanista team, said that had an international ‘azzurro’ until the end of the season, but, with Zaniolo insisting on leaving, the Portuguese coach confirmed the ‘divorce’ between the two. The medium has no future in the ‘giallorosso’ team.
Zaniolo, 23, signed for Roma in 2018 from Inter and in 2021-22 he won the Conference League with the team led by Mourinho.
