The Real Barcelona Tennis Club is 125 years old, a historic anniversary that will feature many events and actions distributed throughout 2024.
“We want to celebrate it because good things are celebrated. We want to celebrate our history, a history that we consider special for the importance that RCTB-1899 has in the development of tennis in this country,” highlighted this Wednesday the president of the entity, Jordi Cambra, in an event where the logo and the official poster were unveiled.
The festival events will start on February 5 with a Gala at the Gran Teatre del Liceu consisting of five acts. (in a nod to the five sets of a tennis match). Following a common thread of the club’s history and values, it will feature unpublished audiovisual images and a performance by the dancer Sol Picó, accompanied by musicians from the Liceu Conservatory and a performance by Pau Casals Foundation, in addition to other surprises.
Although, Undoubtedly, the highlight will be the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell- Conde de Godó Trophyevents will continue beyond the month of April.
In particular, on June 12 the club will host an event where David Ferrer and Anabel Medina, captains of the national team, will announce the teams who will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Another novelty is the presentation, on September 17, of the club’s Wikipediawhich will include the sporting and social activities of all the people who have played a prominent role in the 125 years of the entity’s history.
Also in September, on the 28th, the so-called Major Festival of the club will be celebrated.an event developed with the Peñas of the entity where there will be activities for everyone.
The end of this historic year will come in December, when RCT Barcelona joined the TV3 Marathon with a range of sports actions and activities in its facilities.
