After completing a great year with Lidl Trek-Future Racing, he joined the Navarrese team with the aim of continuing to develop as a cyclist and maintain his progress.
Mats Wenzel (Luxembourg, 2002) stands out for his ability to climb and excel in physically demanding races and left many examples of his quality during his time as an under-23 player. After three years at a high level in Leopard Pro Cycling, he jumped to the Lidl Trek development team in 2024, where he confirmed the talent he possesses on the prestigious stages.
“I like to define myself as a climber, but also as a versatile runner. I think climbs between 10 and 20 minutes suit me best. In general, I always e -enjoy when the race is tough, regardless of whether there are more or less mountains,” said the new signing of the Kern Pharma Team.
“I chose the Kern Pharma Team because I consider it a perfect project for the development of young riders and also because of the good calendar in which I can compete,” added Mats Wenzel, who does not set specific goals for 2025 : “I want to develop as a cyclist and go to races that are motivated and efficient. “This is my first season as a professional and I’m looking forward to it.”
