Kelsey-Lee Barber retained her javelin throw gold

the australian Kelsey-Lee Barbero this Friday became the Eugene World Championships in Athletics (USA) to the first female recipient revalidate the javelin gold medal with the release of 66.91 meters.

Barber’s launch, which already won the competition at the Doha World Cups held in 2019, was the best score achieved this year.

However it was the bronze medal, Haruka Kitaguchiwho made history with Barber by becoming the first Japanese woman to win a javelin medal in an international competition.

Kitaguchi, who throughout the competition endeared himself to the Eugene crowd thanks to his outgoing personality and enthusiasm, also won a medal with his latest throw from 63.27 meters.

The 24-year-old Japanese woman, who became the youth champion in the discipline, snatched the bronze medal from the current Olympic champion, Shiying Liu of China, by just two centimeters.

In the final round of shots, Liu went from second place with a shot of 63.25 meters to fourth place after first Winger and then Kitaguchi.

In the first part of the competition was Australian Mackenzie Little, fourth in the world ranking, who dominated with her first throw of 63.22 meters.

But midway through the competition, Barber, the world number one, starred with a throw that went more than four meters past his best to date and allowed him to secure his second consecutive victory in a world championship.
