In addition to an ÖVP politician, there was another Christkindl forger who got into mischief in Upper Austria. In a very professional manner, he is said to have delivered countless completely forged letters for hundreds of thousands of euros to collectors.
What prosecutors and detectives are currently experiencing in Upper Austria sounds like something out of a bad movie. After Linz investigated an ÖVP politician who sold fake letters from the world-famous Christkindl post office to collectors, as reported, detectives apparently found another forger.
Two men, one passion
He is also a passionate collector, also from Upper Austria – more precisely from the Hausruckviertel. But two things fundamentally distinguish him from counterfeiter #1: he must not repent. And according to insiders, he should have acted much more professionally. While in the first case “just” other stamps were pasted and “only” the popular Christmas post office stamp was wrong, with the second forger everything is clearly wrong – including the envelope and the like.
Suspect does not confess
It would be letters from the years 1950 to 1954, which in the world of collectors are only traded at catalog value in the four-digit euro class. It is possible that even the first-named counterfeiter bought from the second counterfeiter and was cheated. Also against the Hausruckviertler (name known to the editors) is determined.
The damage he would have caused with the sale runs into the hundreds of thousands. According to information from “Krone”, the man does not confess. He would argue that the forgeries are a legacy he found in the basement. It is the presumption of innocence.
