PP+Cs are betting on a general tax cut to face the crisis

The coalition has sent a basic document to the Lehendakari to try to reach agreements with the Basque government on economic matters.

The parliamentarian of the PP+C coalition, Luis Gordillo, has defended in the Basque parliament a general tax cut that will help cope with the economic crisis exacerbated by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In a monographic plenary session in the Basque Parliament on the consequences and possible reactions to the economic crisis, the coalition proposed a tax reform and a Basic document to Lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu to make agreements about this.

Gordillo has emphasized that a “deflation” of personal income tax to adapt it to inflation, and for this it has asked the Basque government to coordinate with the councils, administrations that have fiscal powers.

But the popular spokesperson has said that “bandages as subsidized aid” is not enough, opting for “design” reforms in the areas of taxation, opening of markets, refund of excess collection and coordination between administrations.

On this last point, that of coordination, Gordillo has said that it is “not possible” to get out of the crisis “as a community”, that it is necessary coordinate with administrationsespecially with the government of Spain.

Finally, and referring to the “excesses” in the collection, such as the remains of the Basque government, he requested adjust budgets “less need to raise.”
