A “toxic relationship”. This is how the public prosecutor describes the relationship between the 19-year-old and her partner. There were frequent fights, including physical violence. But you stayed as a couple and lived together. Even in court, the accused girl confesses: “I still love him, but I’m afraid to be with him.”
Self-defense or attempted murder?
During an argument, she stabbed him with a knife. According to her lawyer Thomas Nirk: pure self-defense. The Afghan allegedly beat her and dragged her into the kitchen by her hair. There she grabbed a knife and stabbed: “I didn’t want to hit him. I just wanted him to leave me alone,” says the girl.
The Public Prosecution Service describes the incident differently: the couple would have beaten each other, the housemates have repeatedly tried to separate them. Then she took the kitchen knife and attacked her friend. The girl injured him with three stitches in the chest and upper arm. Charged with attempted murder.
Love letters in custody
The 19-year-old has been in jail since the incident. The two are no longer together. Even in prison, the girl was looking for a new one and maintained a lively love correspondence with an inmate: “But that stopped because he lied to me. He was Leonie’s boyfriend.” – The 13-year-old who was raped and left dead, now says in court that she can well envision resuming her relationship with her Afghan ex-boyfriend – if he wanted to.
