The Spanish government plans to extend the current calculation method of the Basque and Navarrese quotas in the public accounts for next year, as long as the new five-year period is not approved. In the case of the Basque quota, this is budgeted at 1.68 billion euros, while in Navarre, in 645 million of euros.

This is how it is collected in the project of General State Budgets (PGE) presented this Thursday in the Congress of Deputies by the Minister of Finance and Public Function, María Jesús Montero, regarding the autonomous communities of the formal regime, such as Euskadi and Navarra.

In this regard, the government of Pedro Sánchez explains that, since at the date of the adoption of the bill on public accounts, the method for setting the quota for the five-year period had not yet been approved 2022-2026 and that from 2017-2021 is still maintained, the provisional gross quota for the year 2023 has been budgeted as one quota more than the previous five-year period, namely 1,680 million euros.

The same is happening in Navarra, where the amount is estimated at 645 million euros. In this case it has been extended again as it has not been agreed since 2020.
