Crash in the Zillertal – Tyrolean crashes with more than 1.6 per mille

Spectacular accident Saturday evening in the Tyrolean Zillertal: A 19-year-old driver lost control of the car and hit the wall of a gas station building with full force. The young man, who according to the police was heavily under the influence of alcohol, and his passenger (16) were injured.

The serious accident happened around 2:45 am in Gerlos. As a police spokesman told Krone, the 19-year-old Austrian was on the main road before driving to the gas station area.

He may have lost control of the car, after which the car hit the wall of the building with full force. The driver and his 16-year-old passenger were injured in the collision and had to be taken by ambulance to the Schwaz district hospital after first aid.

The fire brigade had to come here too
An alcohol test on the driver showed that he was heavily intoxicated, namely more than 1.6 per mille. The 19-year-old had to surrender his driver’s license on the spot. There was massive damage to the car. Gerlos’ volunteer fire brigade had to tie up expired equipment.
