Dealing with Putin? – Ukrainian Army: Musk satellite malfunctions

Date:

After his rejected peace plan for Ukraine, there is renewed excitement about American billionaire Elon Musk. The Starlink satellites, which are so valuable to the Ukrainian military and allow President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s troops to navigate and observe the enemy even when mobile and fixed internet go down, have often failed in recent times. It was striking that this mainly happened in those regions where the Ukrainian armed forces had gained ground. Media reports are already speculating about a deal between Musk and Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin.

American political scientist and author Ian Bremmer fueled the rumors when he tweeted about a conversation between Musk and Putin. It was about Ukraine and the “red lines of the Kremlin”. The conversation was just before the peace plan Musk presented the week before, Bremmer continued.

Musk: ‘I spoke to Putin 18 months ago’
The entrepreneur immediately reacted and contradicted the performance. “I spoke to Putin once. That was 18 months ago and it was about space,” Musk tweeted.

Musk rejects Crimea expansion
The Starlink terminals have been partly donated to Ukraine. The US government has also bought some of the thousands of satellites destined for Ukraine. The land is more or less well covered with it. However, the tech billionaire, who has South African and Canadian citizenship in addition to US citizenship, has spoken out against expanding the satellite network to the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea. A direct request from Kiev was turned down for fear of a nuclear escalation, it said a few days ago.
