A 12-kilogram reticulated python has been released in Vorarlberg. The 1.60 meter long animal was discovered on Tuesday afternoon at the waste transfer point Böschistobel in Nenzing (Bludenz district).
Around 11.45 am, employees of the waste transfer point were pushing the residual waste together with a wheel loader. Opened a Styrofoam box containing a duvet cover.
As it moved, the employees opened the lid and revealed the snake. The snake, identified by a vet as a reticulated python, was said to have been released earlier this week. She was taken to the Ardetzenberg animal park in Feldkirch.
Vorarlberg police are now looking for the owner, who has not yet been found, and are asking for information.
