Pig hanged – Next storm fans provocation for the derby

Date:

The mood for Wednesday’s first Sturm-GAK-Derby continues to rise: After Sturm fans had already roamed the city on Sunday evening, a red-colored real pig appeared on a highway bridge near Seiersberg on Monday morning.

The image spread like wildfire on social media and among football fans: a red-colored pig, suspended by its legs, dangled from a highway bridge at the Seiersberg exit towards Graz Monday morning – clearly visible to all commuters.

Police say it was a real pig. The animal was transported to the cadaver by the fire brigade.

Storm fans are suspicious
Behind it are probably fans of SK Sturm, the exact perpetrators are unknown. On Wednesday, the first derby between the two Graz football teams since 2007 will take place – provocations are inevitable. Next to the pig was a sticker that read “shit GAK”.

The police are now looking for the perpetrator. “The danger to traffic cannot get out of hand here. If the pig had fallen, it could have had serious consequences,” said spokesman Markus Lamb.

On Sunday evening, the black and white supporters were already marching loudly through the inner city of Graz. “Fucking GAK, schalalalala,” they roared.

police are prepared
On Wednesdays – kick-off is at 6 p.m. – Conrad-von-Hötzendorf-Straße and Münzgrabenstraße are closed for fan marches from approximately 2 p.m. Police operations manager Willibald Gutschi finds clear words beforehand: “If necessary, we can take appropriate measures. It is now up to each individual football fan to make this city derby an emotional yet peaceful football festival for the families.”

The GAK fans now reacted particularly to the provocation from the black camp. With a dose of humor and a good deed.

The “Grazer AK 1902 Fan Project” (see above) announced on social media that it would sponsor two pigs, Saskia and Egon!
