A Carinthian army trainer in the Khevenhüller barracks in Klagenfurt must have commanded a particularly heavy regiment. Now the man has to answer to the regional court for abuse of office powers.
During training with the military, on April 6, 2021, conscripts were sentenced by their trainer to a “pioneering exercise” that was not feasible. As punishment, the young recruits had to do extra heavy physical exercises. And that to the point of exhaustion.
Extremely severe punishment
In addition, the former army trainer, who is subject to the presumption of innocence, is said to have forced the base soldiers to climb a tower and undress. The whole project would have happened without official interests.
abuse of authority
And that’s where the Public Prosecution Service comes in. The former trainer will therefore soon have to answer for the court in Klagenfurt for abuse of official powers. This offense carries a prison sentence of six months to five years.
