A motorist crashed into a fuse box near the exhibition center in Oberwart on Saturday night. He committed a hit and run!
There must have been spectacular scenes caused by an unknown driver in Oberwart on Saturday evening. Presumably at too high speed, the driver first crashed into a fuse box in the vicinity of the exhibition center and then drove down the dike towards Pinka.
With a lot of luck he did not end up in the water and in the dangerous situation he was able to turn his vehicle around and drive back up the steep slope. He then committed a hit-and-run.
In the crash, the fuse box that the motorist crashed into was so badly damaged that the street lighting on Informstrasse, the right and left Pinkaufer, parts of Schulgasse and the sports grounds failed completely.
No power supply: parking meters out of service
The parking meters in the affected areas will also be out of use in the coming days. There will be no parking ticket checks until the power supply is restored – probably early this week. The street hooligan was charged with gross damage to property and collision. The police have started an investigation.
