A small plane made a spectacular emergency landing on Saturday in the middle of a road in Santa Barbara County, California. Fortunately, the pilot was able to avoid traffic and no one was injured.
Technical problems arose after the single-engine machine was launched. The pilot actually wanted to make an emergency landing at Santa Maria Airport – but he was only about five miles from it. Due to an engine failure, he had to end up on the street.
While approaching for landing, the plane broke a power line, “but the pilot managed to avoid traffic and even ran off the road,” fire chief Mike Eliason said in a tweet.
Neither the pilot nor the road users on the ground were injured. After the incident, emergency services were deployed to repair the broken power line.
