The Tyrolean police in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal managed to stop a gang of four thieves from the Czech Republic. When officers searched the home, they found weapons and drugs. An app killed the men.
The police came to know about the gang because they were informed of a bicycle theft in Germany on Wednesday. The owner found it with a location app in Mayrhofen. At the same time, the officials also reported the theft of an e-scooter. Using the location data, the detectives eventually found a car in which, in addition to the bicycle and the e-scooter, there was also a chainsaw.

Further investigation together with the state criminal investigation department eventually led to the four Czechs, who were promptly arrested. “Nearly 700 grams of narcotics (methamphetamine) as well as two long guns and a gas pressure pistol were secured in the men’s apartment,” the officials said.
Three men were set free. A 50-year-old, against whom a residence ban applies, has been taken to Innsbruck prison.
