The police shot dead an armed suspect (39) in Vienna on Tuesday night. According to information from “Krone”, the man was in an apartment in the Favoriten district and was wielding a revolver.
Observant neighbors alerted police after cries for help. When the WEGA troops arrived at the apartment on Laxenburgerstraße and the man refused to put down the revolver after being asked to do so several times, a shootout ensued. The suspect was alone in the apartment.
Injured shoulder
An officer fired a shot after the suspect pointed the revolver in the direction of the police officer. The 39-year-old suffered a shoulder injury. There is no danger to life.

The suspect was treated at the scene by emergency services and taken to hospital. The 39-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The investigation is still ongoing. The 39-year-old’s murder weapon was temporarily secured.
