In Dechantskirchen in Eastern Styria, a terrible accident took place on Tuesday afternoon: an 80-year-old had apparently overlooked his wife when parking out of the garage. The registered emergency physician was only able to determine the death of the 77-year-old.
The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. in Dechantskirchen (Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district): the 80-year-old wanted to drive out of the garage with his car. When he was already completely outside with his car, the East Styrian said he felt a sudden shock.
The emergency doctor fought for the woman’s life
When he got out, the man saw his wife lying on the ground. Apparently, he hit his wife with the back of the vehicle, knocking her to the ground. Desperate, he immediately administered first aid and alerted the rescue services. The emergency doctor tried to resuscitate the 77-year-old, but was ultimately only able to determine her death. The husband is being cared for by the Crisis Intervention Team.
