One of them wanted to be sure: a 38-year-old drove on the A1 in wintery conditions with summer tires. His car slammed into the center rail. But then the problems started.
The 38-year-old Romanian, who lives in Pasching, drove his car around 8:45 a.m. on Saturday in winter road conditions and poor visibility on the A1 towards Salzburg – with summer tires!
Thrown against the guardrail
At Asten, it promptly skidded, slammed into the concrete central crash barrier and came to rest in the third lane area on the opposite side of the road. Without securing the scene of the accident or waiting for police to arrive, the 38-year-old simply fled the scene of the accident in an unknown direction.
taken medicines
In the vehicle, the investigating officers could find typical objects for the use of narcotics. The suspect was eventually located at the home address during the investigation, which revealed clear signs of drug use. The 38-year-old was presented to the police doctor and was found to be unfit to drive.
No driver’s license
But that’s not all: the man couldn’t take away his driver’s license because he doesn’t have one.
The car, which was badly damaged and could no longer drive, was removed from the scene of the accident. During the recovery of the vehicle, there were traffic disruptions in the vicinity of the accident site between 08:35 and 09:27.
