Police killed the shooter
A gunman killed several people this morning at a Walmart grocery store in Virginia, Chesapeake police, who shot the author, reported. “We were able to find several fatalities and several injuries,” explained Leo Kosinski, city police officer.
“We think it was a single shooter and now he’s dead,” added Kosinski, who praised the quick response of his units who “immediately” entered the shop. “Our first responders are well trained and ready to respond,” he added.
Newsreel footage showed a large police presence at the scene. Kosinski specified that several officers and detectives were combing the commercial area and securing the area. The exact number of fatalities was uncertain. But CBS affiliate WUSA said police are considering 10 deaths.
Virginia state senator Louise Lucas said she was “absolutely heartbroken that the last mass shooting in America is happening tonight at a Walmart in my county in Chesapeake, Virginia.”
“I will not rest until we find solutions to end this epidemic of gun violence in our country that has claimed so many lives,” he wrote on Twitter.
