It is almost unbelievable what the police officers literally ‘blow’ on during a traffic check in Vienna: an e-scooter driver had apparently pimped his vehicle and – despite the darkness – was on the road at lightning speed.
The Viennese police paid particular attention to fast e-scooter drivers during a traffic focus on Thursday evening. City command officials conducted speed checks.
A particularly daring e-scooter driver was taken out of circulation. The man’s vehicle reached a speed of 85 km/h instead of the permitted 25 km/h, the national police announced on Saturday.
“Roadrunner” phased out
Two drivers were caught on Triester Straße, who apparently had participated and had clocked up to 120 km/h on the speedometer. One had no valid driver’s license, the other had a provisional driver’s license. The number plates of both speeding offenses were removed and a report was made.
In total, the police have issued 26 organ mandates and 73 reports to “traffic offenders”.
