Judgment “life sentence” – Tyrolean stabbed father: “Everything is discharged”

Date:

After the break with her father, who is said to have bullied the family, a 29-year-old Tyrolean actually wanted to speak to him in November 2021 in Neustift in the Stubaital. But the project ended horribly. The woman allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed him several times. Now she was on trial for murder in Innsbruck and had confessed in principle.

It should have been reconciliation – in the end it came to a tragedy: a Tyrolean academic (29) suffered for years from the broken relationship of the alcoholic father and mother. “A path of suffering, he tyrannized the family,” the lawyer referred to smashed doors and death threats. Circumstances the mother would have preferred to keep secret. They put enormous pressure on the 29-year-old, who strove for harmony: on the one hand she was successful as a research assistant, on the other hand she developed bulimia (an addiction to eating and vomiting).

Already noticed at the entrance “flag”.
The parents separated in 2018, partly due to legal disputes. The 57-year-old moved into his own apartment nearby. After a year without contact, his Whatsapp messages reached his daughter in November 2021: he felt bad, he now recognized his mistakes, the father wrote. “Then I thought that the alcohol therapy had finally brought something,” the suspect muttered through tears. She was having lunch with her mother and went to visit him against her advice. Already at the entrance she saw his “flag”.

Dozens of knife wounds also to the neck
Instead of a discussion, it got loud again. “I got more and more angry, at one point everything exploded.” She can’t remember the exact order. One thing is certain: she killed the 100-kilogram man with numerous knife wounds, including to the neck, and then stammered 911. There was fear in the jury room as the recorded phone call revealed her utter desperation. The 29-year-old woman couldn’t even say her name.

Life imprisonment for the accused
The expert testified with common sense, the defense tried an explanation: “It was an act in the affect, a storm of emotions dominated it. Everything was drained that day.” The 29-year-old was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment for murder in a unanimous jury verdict, which is not legally binding at this time.
