Witness raised the alarm – car drove into Bach: 81-year-old seriously injured

Suddenly he lost control and went off the road: an 81-year-old drove his car into a stream in Oberwölz in the Styrian district of Murau. This was noted by a witness who called 911. 20 firefighters were on duty in the accident on Holy Saturday afternoon.

Fortunately, there was a witness to the accident who alerted the emergency services. He found that the vehicle of the 81-year-old ended up in a stream, the Salchauer Bach, around 1 pm on the Salchauweg from Hochegg in the direction of Oberwölz. Before this time, the driver may have lost control of the steering wheel and thus drifted off the road.

Driver seriously injured
20 firefighters from Oberwölz were on site, as well as the Red Cross and a rescue helicopter from the ÖAMTC. After receiving first aid, the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries. His car was a total loss.
