Talker accident – according to the labor inspectorate: no fault of third parties

After the roller coaster accident in Vienna’s Prater in late March, which killed a 30-year-old company employee, the Vienna Labor Inspectorate found no evidence of third-party culpability.

That reports the ORF Vienna on Sunday. Nevertheless, after the investigation was completed, the Labor Inspectorate submitted a complaint to the Public Prosecution Service. In the accident on the evening of March 29, the 30-year-old crossed the track of the “Olympia Looping”. She was hit by a train and fatally shot.

Despite first aid measures, the woman died at the accident site. “Despite extensive investigations, it could not be determined why the employee chose the route through the facility and not the intended traffic route out,” the Labor Inspectorate said.

No technical defects found
The employee was familiar with the track and was well instructed. “No technical defects caused by accidents were found on the track.” After the accident, a judicial autopsy was ordered. According to the report, the results are not yet available.

Largest movable roller coaster in the world
With a length of 1,250 meters, the attraction is the largest portable roller coaster in the world, according to the website. It impresses “not only with its size and its five loops, but also with its first-class handling characteristics and smooth running”.
