Today, January 30, the Euribor has reached an average rate of 3.333%, a figure not seen since December 2008. this month. The rate did not fall below 3.3% throughout January.

Since December, the Euribor has increased by 31.5 points, and taking into account the data from a year ago, -0.477%, it has increased by 3.8% in these 12 months.

How will this affect my mortgage?

With that Euribor figure, someone with a 30-year variable mortgage of EUR 150,000 and with a difference of 0.99% plus Euribor will have an increase in their mortgage payment of approximately EUR 294. In absolute terms, you go from about 450 euros to about 744 euros per month, which amounts to an additional annual expenditure of more than 3,500 euros.

Under the same conditions, a mortgage of EUR 300,000 capital pending repayment and 30 years pending payment should assume a monthly increase of EUR 588, which amounts to more than EUR 7,000 extra per year.
