Landlady fought back – Internet threat made Zechpreller nervous

Date:

An unpaid bill in a Zillertal mountain inn, including the final warning, almost went viral on the Internet. Ultimately, the postings brought success. In the end, the bill was dutifully paid.

First, they literally ate and drank like God in France at 2,095 meters above sea level. But then the four holidaymakers apparently noticed on Wednesday in the Granatalm on the Penkenjoch that their wallets were too small and left without further ado. Of course, the bill of 178.30 euros remained unpaid.

“Not with us,” thought landlady Christa Kröll-Brindlinger, posting the bill online on social media, along with a note that the drinkers had been filmed. Within hours, the posts on Facebook and Instagram were shared and commented on countless times. Many wanted to help!

Incomprehension or fear of consequences?
On Thursday morning, a wanted holidaymaker sheepishly appeared at the mountain hut and paid the outstanding amount. “The lady told an employee that there had been a misunderstanding,” the Granatalm landlady told the “Krone”. Accordingly, the woman would have believed that her husband had already paid the bill. The faux pas would have been noticed during dinner.

Kröll-Brindlinger rather believes that the holidaymakers – apparently Belgians or Dutch – saw the warning on the internet and got cold feet. In any case, the service is happy and relieved that the holidaymakers have shown insight too late. And the landlady, who is annoyed almost daily by thieves who simply sweep away cutlery, was almost happy with the advertisement despite the hassle. “We didn’t think the warning would get so much attention on the internet.”
