The TikTok algorithm also has its downsides. One of Austria’s best-known TikTok influencers talks about the dangers and opportunities of social media and TikTok in particular in the krone.tv Talk: Linda Baier – better known as “Linda Lime” to her 1.5 million followers. In a conversation with Jürgen Winterleitner, Baier talks about her career, the influencer profession and also about her new book “The TikTok School”.
With her 1.5 million TikTok followers, Linda Baier is one of the influencers with the largest reach in Austria. In her entertaining TikTok short videos, she presents her “world of experience” and, among other things, advertises excursion destinations in Lower Austria.
Stop teaching for TikTok
Linda Baier didn’t always want to be an influencer. She is actually a teacher and has also taught at a secondary school in Lower Austria. Only during the Corona period in the first lockdown did she change her plan, quit her job as a teacher and was a full-time influencer from then on. But it all started much earlier – namely in your childhood. “I practically grew up in front of the camera,” says Linda Baier.
Linda Baier first realized she had accomplished something special when she crossed the million follower mark. And she is proud that she actually achieved her goal of becoming an influencer. Because it takes hard work, says the former teacher. In addition to her job as a teacher, she has already worked day and night to reach her goal of one million followers.
Protect young people from the TikTok algorithm
“Young people must be protected. TikTok has one of the best algorithms in the world. Videos can go extremely viral in a very short time. It must be stopped so that no new challenges are introduced.” That is what influencer Linda Baier says about the dangerous TikTok challenges in which young people have died because they have strangled themselves for a challenge, for example.K

The influencer also recently released a book: “The TikTok School – How to discover yourself with social media”.
