An accident took place in Stubenberg am See in Eastern Styria on Saturday night, leaving many questions unanswered. The 18-year-old driver does not have a driver’s license and the license plate does not belong to the car.
Around 10.15 pm there was a sudden bang on the L409 in Buchberg near Herberstein. An 18-year-old driver from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district left the road on a right turn, overturned his car and crashed into several trees. The vehicle came to rest on its roof and the driver was trapped and injured.
Freed from the wreckage
Fortunately, the accident was noticed by other drivers and a report was made to the police. The Stubenberg fire brigade freed the man from his wreck, after which he was taken to the LKH Hartberg by the emergency doctor with injuries of unknown seriousness.
The police found that the 18-year-old did not have a driver’s license. In addition, the license plate of another vehicle was mounted on the accident car. It was not clear at the scene whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol because he was seriously injured.
