You can’t count on such parents. While a couple (51 and 52) committed several thefts in Pasching on Saturday, they left their eight-year-old son alone in the mall. Even when they were caught by a shop detective and arrested by the police, they forgot about their son. Two hours later, employees took the abandoned boy to the police.
It is thanks to an attentive shop detective that a bunch of shoplifters were stopped on Saturday. The two Serbian citizens and spouses living in Vienna were removing the anti-theft devices from clothes at a textile shop in Pasching around 4:00 PM.
Side cutters and special bag
The 51-year-old woman selected the items and placed them in front of her 52-year-old husband. He removed the fuses with side cutters and took the stolen goods in a specially prepared bag to the car parked in the underground car park. When the man wanted to leave the store again, he was stopped by the shop detective. It took a second detective to detain the aggressive suspect until police arrived. His wife was still in the business at the time. Both were apprehended by the police patrol.
Son’s ID found in car
The criminals eventually found the couple’s vehicle in the parking garage. There were several shopping bags in which more stolen goods were hidden. In the car, investigators also saw the identity card of an eight-year-old boy. It was clearly the identity card of the son of the two. When asked about the boy’s whereabouts, the suspect stated that he was with his older sister in Vienna. In their initial interviews, they partially confessed to the theft.
The eight-year-old was alone for hours
About two hours after the arrest, mall employees handed over an eight-year-old who had been alone in the center to police. It turned out to be the son of the suspect, who was already being interrogated at the Pasching police station at that time. The boy was placed in a socio-educational institution by order of the district administration.
