Two light aircraft collided over a lake in Winter Haven, Florida. Four people were killed in the accident. A Piper J-3 Cub had collided with a Cherokee Piper 161 for unknown reasons. Both machines subsequently fell into the water.
After hours of investigation, the Polk County Police Department was able to identify three of the four killed in the crash late Tuesday night, according to USA TODAY.
Faith Irene Baker, 24, and Zachary Jean Mace, 19, of Winter Haven, and Randall Elbert Crawford, 67, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, could only be found dead.
Baker was a pilot and flight instructor for Sunrise Aviation and was aboard the Cherokee Piper 161 with Polk State College student Mace. Crawford was aboard the Piper J-3 Cub. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. The identity of the fourth fatal victim is still unclear.
