Following a tip from the public, agents of the Braunau Criminal Investigation Department were investigating a group of Romanian nationals who had been offering illegal sexual services from a specially rented apartment in Braunau am Inn since November 2022. In addition, these sex services were performed without protection against sexually transmitted diseases. Four women were reported or a four-figure deposit in euros was collected.
Always changing
In consultation with the competent authority, the illegal brothel operation has been terminated. As a result of the investigation measures, it also became known that the women traveled all over Austria, usually on a weekly basis, to offer their illegal services in different cities. The promotion of the sex services and communication with clients was carried out by other participants residing in Romania. An investigative report on the organizers of this illegal apartment prostitution and the suspicion of pimping was sent to Ried’s public prosecutor’s office.
