About 25,000 euros – Freud University: Medical studies for Germans for sale

Date:

For a lot of money, German students can buy a place to study medicine at a private university in Vienna’s Prater. The “Krone” has the contract.

For high fees, places are arranged for German students with the necessary change. In return, Sigmund Freud University guarantees the acceptance of the applicants regardless of their suitability and the outcome of the selection process. “It is unbelievable that the SFU is the only local university with such dubious practices that bring wealthy ladies and gentlemen to us,” an insider reveals. The contract concluded in 2015 is at the disposal of the “Krone”. This clearly shows that the coveted medicine spots are for sale.

The university’s license to study for a master’s degree in medicine was revoked
Moreover, the agency Medistart shamelessly advertises this practice. Students from the neighboring country can – even if they do not meet the admission requirements for universities (“numerus clausus”) – take a seat in the SFU lecture halls in Prater, Vienna. Medistart is paid handsomely for this service. The aspiring doctors must pay a fee of up to 25,000 euros. In addition to the high tuition fees incurred after admission. The case is explosive because, as reported, SFU’s license for its master’s degree in medicine has been revoked.

The reason: too few teachers and too few rooms for so many students. So now the domestic “Bachelor” graduates are left with a “useless” degree. A spokesperson for the university rejects the preference for German students. The cooperation agreement will also expire soon.
